Great Reno Balloon Race

Drift away with the Great Reno Balloon Race featuring more than 125 of the nation's top balloonists. The fun begins pre-dawn, as hundreds of balloons beautifully ascend into the sky. Exciting shows include the Dawn Patrol, Glow Show, Tissue Paper Balloon Launch, Balloon Blackjack and Balloon Boulevard where spectators will find crafts, souvenirs and warm food and drinks.

This event originated in 1919 to help the town provide funds for their first street lights. Today the event has grown, but still offers the small town charm it once did. Patrons are invited to browse the more than 350 vendors and exhibitors, stay for the dinner and dance and delight in the homemade candies.
